Home is Where My Heart is

I love my room. It's where I spend most of my time when I'm home. It's spacious, peaceful and quiet.

I especially love all the light that comes in at sunset. It warms the room in a way that no cozy carpet or plush linen can.

But lately, actually..for the past couple of months, I wanted to change something in my room. It seemed dull and lifeless. I've also been staring at the same wall colour for years now. Four years perhaps? And the brown stripe at the top, what was I thinking? Although I wasn't thinking much about the colour at the time, the end result was somewhat positive as that brown stripe made my room look higher. First lesson of interior decorating: the higher you draw attention, the higher the room will feel!
ooSo after months of debate, I finally decided to paint my room. I had taken some colour swatches last year and I dug them out of piles of paper and found that till this day, my decision on which colour I wanted my room still stood where it was last year. So I figured maybe I do like it?

My dad and I head out to get some paint. After clearing out all things and moving the furniture into the middle of the room, we were both tired. So we had a little treat :3

After painting my room a colour that Sico paint calls Low Tide (6164-21), everything in my room looked different. The flowers, linen, the light..but most importantly, my mood :)

I prefer to call this colour the Tiffany blue...but lighter, greener and much softer. Not sure if I love Tiffany that much to duplicate the exact colour.

After seeing my new and improved room, my dad suggested we go and get new furniture this weekend :3 To say that I'm looking forward to this weekend would be an understatement!
