People and things

What is it with people and things? Our rooms, cars, and purses are overflowing with things that we can very much live without. I have a shelf in my room dedicated to things I simply look at. It's filled with bracelet charms and glass/porcelain decorations. When I look at them, they bring me back to the time, people or feelings that are attached to the thing.
ooIt's kind of silly once I think about it. It's as if....the good preservation of that thing will somehow preserve that moment, person or feeling forever. But once something intangible is gone, it's gone. And no object can ever embody a moment, a person or a feeling. So why do I hold onto it so dearly?
ooMaybe all I can do is remember what we once had. Perhaps, people are right when they say we should throw away all material things, letters, and flowers from past lovers. They do more harm than good. But then again, how can I bring myself to throw away my most cherished lady Dior purse? I remember a girlfriend once said, a purse you buy for yourself is more valuable than a purse that a man buys for you. Maybe she was right all along, given that I adore this purse that I bought at a vintage store.

Meyers, $25. Scarf, $5.

And then there are the priceless things - enjoying the infamous Cupcake Shoppe cupcakes and sipping on strawberry white tea at David's Tea with your girlfriends :)

Squarepusher - Tommib Help Buss

This song was part of the Marie Antoinette soundtrack. If you have not seen the movie yet, I beg you, please see it! This movie is colours, dresses, shoes, dessert overload for your eyes - translation: the cinematography is stunning. { Marie Antoinette trailer
