Japan ♥ Lanvin ♥ H&M

There was no shortage of people at the H&M in Osaka. Maybe because its the only H&M in Osaka1. Or maybe it's because we love H&M a lot. Who knows, and who cares!

5am.

The line started at 11pm with a group of five or six. One of which spoke perfect English and was able to answer my question of "is this where the line starts?". My friend and I decided to drag our butts back to the hotel first to take a short rest. We had shopped the whole day! We went back to the line at 2am and was stumped by 20 people or so ahead of us.

The moment the door opened for our 10:15 group, I felt the rollercoaster ride begin. I tried to contain my mixture of extreme fatigue and child-like excitement on the much-too-slow escalator, while the store pumped Jónsi's Go Do. I knew it was about to get crazy after we got to the second floor!

The collection was much more than I had anticipated. It was witty and sexy. Boisterous yet subtle. Colourful and alive! Thank goodness we're finally moving out of that black on black on black trend! I remember hearing once that black was hard to match with another black, and I took notice to this. But lately, there has been so much black on the hangers that I found it too easy to match. It finally became easy..and thus boring! But thank goodness colour is beginning to blossom again!

I got caught in the whirlwind of flaming pinks, and deep textures and had to give in to what my little heart desired!

Now...the question remains: how the hell am I going to take this home to Toronto?

Hours later..shopping is halted and we stop by slow cafe to enjoy a tofu pudding and pumpkin cake while sharing our new purchases. Our heart was so full :3

I am so glad I did this again! Year after year, I find that it's more and more about the thrill and tradition of going through this extremity! I wonder if this grants me a corporate job at H&M? One could only hope :3

1 The other nine H&Ms are all in Tokyo. All of which carried the Lanvin collection. Osaka's not getting enough love! :(
