New Love

It's been a long time since my last post. Settling down took quite a while! I didn't have internet in my apartment up until now, so I had lots of free time to exhaust my energy in and out of town. Here's one of my wilder weekends...



Beach party!! Two nights and three days of music, drinks and partying on the Hakuto beach. Albeit...I was only able to make it for 1 night and 1 day, it was nonetheless insanely fun.

Of course, I'm always on the lookout for awesome outfits. This guy here, was standing alone at the bar smoking his cigarette..let me tell you, he looked a lot cooler when he was just doing his thing! He was so shy after I said to him "outfit, coooooool. picture?".



..and then he went on to tell me about his pants and his shoes. His pants here, he says, is a collage of photos from raves. How cool! But really, I'm just blown away at how well Japanese people are able to put the oddest pieces of clothing together and make it look just..so..f* cool.



I wish I had taken more photos of this side of the beach. It's morning here...and I'm standing inside the bar/hut because it began to rain. The music was still going, but I could only hear the sound of rain. It was so peaceful. But maybe it was peaceful because I was becoming delusional from the lack of sleep.

I'm discovering that there is lots of love for the rasta/Indian/Tibetan culture here in Tottori. There is a little store near my work that sums up the people, the style, the love for this eclectic mix. It sells everything from clothing to scarves, accessories, home furnishings, organizers, incense, just....everything. Needless to say I frequent that store more than I should!
