Uggly.

As the weather begins to bite the toes, we put away our sling backs and put on the boots. Ugg boots. Every girl at the mall, on the streets, on campus, on ads/TV, restaurants..basically, anywhere where shoes are needed, we're bound to see them. I understand the aesthetic, I understand the functionality, I understand the trend. But what I don't understand is the price of these babies. They're roughly $300 (CAN) a pop for the long ones! My question for anyone who's considering a pair is this: With a $300 budget, perhaps you have other options? Perhaps options that would allow for you to look put together, mature and maybe even stand out? Perhaps some of these options would be cheaper than say, the $300 Uggs even?

These boots I've picked out here emphasize comfort and would be around the same price as the most expensive pair of Uggs, with a few exceptions. I'd say they even fit the "Ugg-outfits" (Uggifts, haha) aesthetic, wouldn't you say? :)

My favourite are the Banana Republic equestrian boots. I thought it was a perfect alternative to the Celine rain boots. They're classy, versatile, mature, and cheap! The Pradas are my dream boots at the moment. I saw them on the fall runway and they looked really sexy and rugged...simultaneously.
ooOf course shoes need to be tried on first. I say if you have a nice solid budget, you should definitely go out and try on a million pairs of boots. And if none of them work, go with the Uggs.

no Miss Sixty up there? It's quite the underdog trend around here, but I find them nice. Again don't ask =P

Visit Joe Fresh! They have some nice cheap shoes/boots that are made with real leather. I bought a fake-UGGs from there for 50 bucks, and it's made with real rabbit.

It's so comfy and REASONABLE!

I have to admit.. I have Uggs! two pairs! :O haha, but I have a perfect excuse - I only wear them on snow vacation ;) They keep my feet perfectly warm when there's snow everywere!
