Drug Store Luxuries

Normally when you walk into a drugstore, you expect the products to be relatively cheap. I mean, compared to boutique stores like Crabtree & Evelyn and The Body Shop, local drugstores should be affordable right? Well today, I walked into Shopper's Drug Mart and found that the products were ridiculously overpriced!
ooThere are a number of explanations for this. One, I'm subconsciously tighter on money. Or two, inflation. I have a suspicion it's both!

Rembrandt toothpaste, $10. REALLY? Ten dollars for a tube of toothpaste?! I agree that the packaging adds some sexiness to its image, but even a designer like me will not pay $6 more for sexy toothpaste.

Actually..toothpaste was all that really shocked me.

As my student debt lurks around the corner, I've made an effort to save some money. I've replaced my favourite Crabtree body wash with a Nivea soap bar. I'm also giving up on buying another Guerlain kisskiss nude gloss, instead, I've opted for the classic no-let-down product - Vaseline! Apparently, it can also be used as eye makeup remover! That's a win-win..win! I wonder where else I can penny squeeze?
